PigeonとDoveの違い
PigeonとDoveの違いアメリカの友人が乳児用品の特許を取得して、日本市場ではおしゃぶり、哺乳瓶などでどのブランドが強いか教えてくれと頼まれました。Pigeonというブランドを教えたところ、びっくりしていました。アメリカでは、鳩はPigeonとDoveの２つがあり、平和の象徴というのはDoveで、Pigeonは「空を飛ぶネズミ」のような汚い鳥のイメージで日本の普通の公園で見るような鳩は、いわゆるPigeonでイメージはよくないでしょう。それを乳児用品のブランドにしたということで、彼はびっくりしたようです。実際にpigeonとdoveは別の種類の鳩ですか？rabbitとhareの違い、crocodileとaligatorの違いなど、日本語では分けないのに英語では分ける動物が結構ありますね。(続きを読む)
